I was just going through the goals for 2021 I wanted to achieve at the end of the year and unfortunately, I was abletoachieve just 2! I felt really bad.

I decidedtoreflex and journalto find out what went wrong and I realized I was so distracted with things that didn’t really even matter. So I decidedtohit theresetbutton.

Resetting your life doesn’t havetohappen at the end of the year or at the end of the month. You shouldresetyour life when you feel like you’re readyto make changes in your life that will make you happy, healthier, wealthier, and at peace.

In this post, I am going toshare a few tips that really helped me when I was resetting my life andhowyou canresetyour life and crush your goals in 2022.

How to Reset your life

Know why you wanttoreset

Why do you wanttoreset? What made you wanttoresetyour life? You should have a reason for it.

Sit down and journal for a few minutes. Write everything down. You should be abletofind your whys from that.

Make a list of everything you wanttolet go

This can be from peopleto clothes. Write down everything that didn’t help you this year, useless tasks that consumed so much of your time, clothes, and accessories you haven’t worn through the year. This will help you toknow what really matters and what doesn’t.

I love decluttering. When I declutter, it automatically puts me in a better mood and it helps with my anxiety. Declutter your phone, tablet, laptop, social media accounts, emails, wardrobe, room, house, mind, everything. When you declutter, you will feel like you’re starting over and this will make you even more motivatedtoresetand restart your life.

Write your goals for 2022 andhowtoachieve them.

Goal setting is such a fun activityto do. You can write your goals down On a piece of paper or in your journal if you have one. I am slowly transitioning into digital planning so for 2022, all my goals and plans for the year will be in my Notion dashboard. I absolutely love Notion and my notion template is everything I needtomanage my entire life.

If you’re more of a visual person, try creating a vision board. A great and easy-to-usedesign software I highly recommend is canva.

I have also seen a lot of people creating a vision board on Pinterest and it totally makes sense because Pinterest is a visual platform and you definitely find all the pictures you needtovisualize your 2022 goals. I think I am goingto try this year as well.

Now, once you have all your realistic goals written down, it’s timetoplan outhowyou will actually achieve them. Take your goals and break them into seasonal goals and then monthly goals. Grab those monthly goals and further break them down into weekly and daily goals. You needtocreate a framework that will work for you without overwhelming you.

At the end of this exercise, you should have tasks you will be doing daily that will help you reach your weekly goals which will make up your monthly goals and eventually your 2022 goals. Now that we have that done, let’s talk about something even more important than setting goals…

Learnhowtobe consistent

Your dreams won’t become a reality unless you work on them. For the longest time, I have suffered from inconsistency. I am still not 100% consistent but compared toprevious years, I have definitely come a long way.

This year, I plan on being more consistent than I have ever been which is why I made the word of this yearto be consistent.

Here are a few tips that helped metobecome more consistent and productive:

  • Set a timer for each task, no matterhowsmall it is
  • Time block your day
  • Don’t havetomake tasks on your daily todo list
  • Constantly remind yourself of the end goal
  • Listentopodcasts and watch videos that will inspire youtoget things done.

Stop Procrastinating

I must admit, this right here is the barrier between me and everything I have ever wanted. I literally procrastinate even the smallest things. Procrastination is a very bad thing and if you also procrastinate as I do, find a way to stop it or at least manage it. There are tons of resources out there that deal with procrastination.

I realized that the reason why I procrastinate so much is that I am afraid of the success that awaits me. Will I be abletohandle all the success I am goingtohave? All the money I am goingto make? All the awards and congratulations that will come after me if I do really well in school? These thoughts are what make me procrastinate.

I found out that the best way I stop it is by telling myself if I won’t be abletohandle it, the opportunity wouldn’t have cometome in the first place. So now, more than ever, I am working so hard so that I can really see what awaits me on the other side of procrastination.

Establish Routines

Having routines will help youtobe more productive and manage your time more efficiently. The one routine I highly recommend you create and get serious about is the morning routine. Your morning routine is very important because it is what will help youto prepare for the day ahead of you and make it a productive one. Another routine I really value is my skincare routine. You should know by now that I am a huge fan of skincare. I love buying skincare, applying skincare, and trying out new skincare products (dear skincare brands, add me to your PR lists)

What I am tryingtosay is that having routines will help you with consistency, fight procrastination and actually get things done and be more productive.

  • Workout routine

  • Saturday or weekend routine
  • Shower routine
  • Work routine
  • School routine and so much more.

Start prioritizing your health

Your liferesetcan not be complete without resetting your physical body. Start taking better care of your health and body. It can be as simple as going for a walk daily, drinking more water, eating more fruits and veggies, consuming less sugar and so much more. Start by doing or eliminating one thing that will improve your health and that will add up eventually.

Start new habits

Our daily habits are what make us human. If you’re a productive person, it’s because your habits helped you tobecome productive. Habits are not easyto form or break. You needto keep doing something for at at least 40 days consistently before you can call that thing a habit.

Resetting your life can take a few daystoeven months. What I want youtodo istobe gentle with yourself. If you failedtodo something, it’s okay, you can always try again tomorrow. You can decidetoresetyour life as many times as you want and it doesn’t havetobe at the end of the year.

The whole purpose of resetting your life istobecome a better you and finally start working on making your dreams a reality. It doesn’t matterhowlong it will take. What really matters is that you should never give up. Keep pushing.
