How hard is it to get into A&M Nursing? ›

It is strongly recommended that applicants have a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) on all prerequisite coursework and a minimum grade of "C" is required in each of the prerequisite courses. For BSN applicants, both the Prerequisite GPA as well as the Nursing Science GPA will be considered.

The traditional (face-to-face) track is completed on the TAMUCC campus in classrooms/labs and is five semesters in length.

Program Overview

The Traditional BSN program is a two-year standard Bachelor of Science in nursing degree program offered at the Bryan—College Station campus. Students choosing this track complete 61 credit hours of professional nursing course work upon entry.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

The minimum requirement for many nursing positions these days is a BSN. The BSN is the best degree for those who want to prepare for future higher education and career advancement opportunities and launch a career as a: Registered Nurse.

Most programs require at least a 2.5 GPA or higher. Some set their limit at a 3.0 GPA. This is important to find out during the research phase of your accelerated nursing program search.

Everyone is different, but in general, it is recommended that nursing school students study anywhere from 2-4 hours a day.

How many years does it take to pass nursing? ›

BSN is a four-year program consisting of general education and professional courses. Professional courses, with emphasis on the nursing concepts with corresponding Related Learning Experiences (RLE), are threaded through from the first year through fourth year.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NURSING CURRICULUM

The Associate in Health Science Education (A.H.S.E.) program constitutes the first two years of the nursing course. Students are then exposed to the professional courses and clinical training (related learning experiences) for four semesters and two summers.

Nursing majors study chemistry, psychology, anatomy and physiology and work in hospitals, nursing homes, doctors' offices and government health departments.
